Oats is a very popular and healthy food grain,
It can be eaten as Breakfast-Starter-Snacks-Meals
Where
It originated in Turkey and its surrounding areas.
It is the staple food of the Scandinavians and the Scots.
Today, the largest commercial producers of oats include the Russian federation and Canada.
A dish made of oats alone, either in crushed or meal form or whole-grain is known simply as oatmeal in the U.S. and in some areas of Canada.
When the great English writer Samuel Johnson disparagingly described oats as "A grain which in England is generally given to horses, but in Scotland supports the people," his biographer, James Boswell, noted that Scottish economist Patrick Murray, fifth lord Elibank, was quoted by Sir Walter Scott to have replied, "Yes, and where else will you see such horses and such men?"

1) Oats soluble fiber (beta-glucan) helps reduce the blood cholesterol levels.
2) Oats insoluble fiber keeps the body’s plumbing in good order, as it dissolves slowly and reduces the blood glucose rise.
3) It is gluten free. Today pure oats (i.e. gluten free) are becoming more widely available.
4) It reduces risk of heart disease.
5) It contributes to gut-mediated positive health effects.
6) Oats grain is also rich in antioxidant.
7) Oats has a good amount of protein and healthy fats.
8) Oats are a good source of iron, magnesium and B vitamins.
9) Oat should be avoided if one has serious uric acid problems.
Points
The germ and bran are rarely removed during processing, so even though rolled oats, say, go through some extra steps in comparison with steel-cut oats, ounce per ounce the nutritional differences are quite minor.
Oat grain has mild and pleasant taste.
One part of oats can be cooked in three parts of liquid.
